Activity Goal
KUON ART GALLERY plays the role of "connecting people" and aims to reach higher mutually, connecting creators with people who hope to hold hands on the works of art. Through KUON ART GALLERY, we share positive motivations and influences in creating new value (creating value from nothing) and grow by equaling with each other. Eventually, we hope that everyone who gathers here will be equally related horizontally, full of vitality, cheerful joy and happiness and that these will continue into the past, present, and future. Moreover, we will challenge ourselves to become a community that encourages a virtuous cycle of creativity.
About the GALLERY Name
We named our art gallery "KUON" in gentle hiragana characters that have been used since the *Heian period in Japan, based on the word "Kuon Jitsujou" of the teachings of Budda (Eternal reincarnation and growth). We also hope for the growth of our civilization in the present and future and are conscious of a community that lives creatively in the present, connecting the distant past and the distant future.
*The Heian period refers to the period from 794 (Enryaku 13), when the capital was moved to Heian-kyo, to 1185 (Bun'ji 1), when the Kamakura monocracy was established.
Logo
About the LOGO
Here is some encouragement from the logo creators.
The logo for KUON ART GALLERY was created by the Italian interior designer, Mr. Domenico Vincenzo Rotolo and the graphic designer, Mr. Elia Rotolo as a symbol of friendship between Japan and Italy and was donated to us in the hope of the growth and fruition of our activities.
Both stated that they are grateful that both Japan and Italy have similarly a long history of traditional and avant-garde art, that both countries are global trend-makers and that everyone appreciates, is fascinated and respects our culture.
In addition, we were encouraged that they did their best to express expectation in the logo that "Kuon" is an art gallery in Japan, combining virtues based on old traditions with modern tastes and ingenuity, and waiting for Japan to represent these virtues and offer something to the world.
